Melbourne Retirement Living Villages
Providing safe and affordable living for older Victorians since 1869.
The Old Colonists’ Association of Victoria is a leading not-for-profit provider offering a continuum of care from independent living, assisted living and aged care in Victoria. Our four villages across Melbourne – including Berwick, Euroa, North Fitzroy and St Helena – are home to 500 older Victorians in need. We are a diverse and inclusive employer.
We were established by Victorian founding fathers including George Selth Coppin, a Member of Parliament and philanthropist. The association’s first village was located in Rushall Park, North Fitzroy after the Government of Victoria gifted an acreage of land.
Our Vision 2020 draws on OCAV’s proven track record in developing practical and effective solutions, whether it is affordable retirement apartments and living in Melbourne, housing, co-designed programs with its residents, or research into new ways of providing support.
The Social Return on Investment analysis we carried out, Living Communities Age Well, has found that for every $1 invested in OCAV, $7.41 of value is created for residents, the community, and the Federal and State Governments.
We have DGR status and donations over $2 are fully tax-deductible.
Why Choose Our Retirement Homes in Melbourne?
Our services have been specifically designed to meet the individual needs of residents – all of whom may have a wide range of conditions. As we are committed to allowing all of those within our community to access the quality of life, social engagement and accessible facilities, our options in Melbourne have become a trusted solution for many.
With an approach that sees us tailor services according to each resident we’re supporting, our accommodation options come in a range of formats. Be it assisted living or independent retirement apartments – we work hard to ensure all of those in our environments can enjoy a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
Independent Living at Our Retirement Villages
Within our villages, we also offer freedom-based support for those that require this option. This means our residents can enjoy tailored services that still support them in their everyday life, but on a varied level. From shopping trips through to outings and local dining – this option is a great way to enjoy the support of retirement homes, while still enjoying an independent lifestyle.
ASSISTED LIVING AND SUPPORT
OCAV provides a number of flexible options for those who may need extra support and care. This is all done without sacrificing any freedom, ensuring all residents can still maintain the lifestyle they choose to lead.
Through this approach, we have a very personalised process that lets us check up on our residents daily, without intruding. From a simple knock on the door, through to more tailored assistance – we’re here to help.
OCAV is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission.
